A Little Time, A Little Adventure.
One of the best things about outdoor recreation in the Waupaca area is that you don’t have to set aside an entire day to enjoy it. A few hours—even just a free morning—can be enough for a walk in the woods and a welcome change of pace.
Before the snow flies, lace up your hiking boots and explore Hartman Creek State Park or one of the nearby Ice Age Trail segments. Pick a route that fits your schedule and take your time enjoying the late-fall woods.
Once winter arrives, there’s plenty of reason to keep heading outside. Hartman Creek State Park offers snowshoeing opportunities, and Iola Winter Sports Club is another great spot to explore on snowshoes. The Ice Age Trail remains one of my favorites—a chance to slip into the quiet woods and enjoy the season at a slower pace.
